BENNOS HIT – Born April 2000, 14.2 HH, chestnut with blaze and four white socks. Bennos Hit was an exceptional German Sport Pony stallion standing in Ontario Canada. He was winner of “Best of Year” at the 2002 pony stallion inspections at Mecklenburg-Voorpommern, Germany.

In 2004 he was awarded first premium with the American Sport Pony Registry and was an ASPR licensed pony stallion until we gelded him in 2010. He has also been accepted as an approved breeding stallion with the American Paint Pony Registry. Bennos Hit has a great disposition, excellent conformation, wonderful paces and form over fences. He received a score of 8 for his scope over fences at the ASPR inspection in April 2004.

In June 2005 he was invited to participate in the Pony Dressage clinic with Cornelia Endres, National Trainer of German Pony Dressage Riders hosted by Lendon Gray. He received wonderful comments about his outstanding canter.

In 2006 Bennos Hit qualified for the Star Search Sport Pony Challenge Final at the RWAF and was one of the top four finalists. In 2009 he was second in the stallion class for Sport Ponies at the Royal Winter Fair

His first foal in Canada, from a quarantine test mare, received a ASPR score of 7.4 and was ASPR 2004 Reserve Futurity Champion in Eastern Canada. In 2005, his foal Bennington was ASPR high score foal in Canada with a score of 7.9 and was tied for second place in USA. In 2006 and 2007, all his foals were awarded First Premium Status at the ASPR inspections. In 2006 Bennos Fancy owned by Anne and Jim Mason was the Saturday site champion.

Since the winter of 2008 Jane has been riding Ben with Lorraine Stubbs and Cindy Ishoy and he has progressed up the dressage levels. In 2008 he was the Training level champion at the Silver Championships, 2010 he ws the Open Level 1 Champion again at the Championships and started 2011 as the Level 1 Champion at his first Gold Dressage Show. In 2009, 2011 and 2012 he was selected, based on show results to participate in the Cadora sponsored Stephen Clarke dressage clinincs.

During 2011 we showed Ben at several of the sport pony shows and he quickly qualified for the Royal Winter Fair under saddle and on the line. He was champion sport pony at Arthur Fair and reserve champion at Barrie Fair. At the 2011 Royal Agricultural Winter Fair he won the Sport Pony Gelding class and then went on to be Grand Champion Sport Pony.

In 2012 I showed Ben at third level dressage and he won at many shows. The high light in 2012 was Ben winning the Third Level Championships at the US Pony Dressage Cup held in Lexington Kentucky. After we got back I took him to a sport pony qualifier show and he won the gelding class, was Senior Champion and then Grand Champion.

In 2013 I showed Ben Level 3 and he won all his classes except one. he was champion Level 3 at several shows, Champion Level 3 for Cadora Ontario year end standing and reserve champion for the Glanbrook dressage shows.

Ben has several offspring excelling in several disciples. In the Ontario hunter pony circuit two top ponies are Harvey and Dora the Explorer. In the dressage circuit, Ben is joined by offspring Bennington, Buckingham, Bennos Fancy and Bennos Curly. Beyond Imagination is also eventing in Florida and Ontario.

Ben has exceeded all my expectations and is truly an outstanding individual. He continues to win fans where ever we show.

Rhaspody in Blue

Rocky (born May 2005) is a lovely grey filly by Kemurs Zeus out of our standardbred mare Armbro Rhaspody. She has matured about 14 HH and was bred to be a driving pony. She looks just like her sire only in a larger version. Her movement is awesome. In fact one of the Canadian dressage trainers who saw her, fell in love with her ‘classiness’ and huge trot.  She is broke to drive and we plan to show her later in 2012.

Yswain Joel D 11453

Joel is a Section D Welsh pony imported from Great Britain, 14.1 H born May 2003.  Joel is By Sydenham Solomon out of Yswain Carys by Nebo More Magic.  Joel is a beautiful cob with an outstanding show record.  Joel drives single, pair and team and has shown under saddle. Joel has a wonderful laid back personality and would be suitable for children or a family wanting to show a top cob.

In 2009 Joel was the Canadian Cob gelding champion and in 2007 the American Cob Stallion/ Gelding Reserve Champion on the line with Paul Maye.

In 2010 with limited showing Joel was the Eastern Canadian Champion Welsh C/D gelding.

In 2011 Joel was the Ontario Welsh C/D Champion gelding. (In 2011 the national Welsh awards were discontinued). During 2011 Joel was Cob Champion at several shows – CNE, Erin Fair, Arthur Fair and the RWF and qualified for the Champion of Champions too.

2012 has been another good season for Joel. He won at Caledon Fair, Brampton Fair, Erin Fair and second at the Ontario Welsh Championships. He also won under saddle the C/D class and the stake class at Brampton Fair and Erin Fair. At the 2012 RWF Joel won his class and was the Welsh Gelding Champion for all sections. We were also second in the under saddle class and 4th in the stake class. As a result Joel was the Ontario Welsh 2012 C/D champion gelding again.

In 2013 Joel was again the 2013 Ontario C/D Champion and the Canadian Reserve Champion

Lunar Eclipse

Star is a 2006 Mennonite bred Standardbred Hackney cross bay mare that we acquired in March 2011. In the short time we have had Star, she has quickly become a barn favourite. She drives well, is very supple and of course forward moving. With some dressage training she may become a lovely pony for combined driving. In Spring 2012, we started riding Star and she learned quickly how to carry herself in a nice frame. Star has been loaned to Tondi Farm for their summer camp (2012) as she is so easy to handle and is very reliable with younger children.

Stonecroft Disco A 9971

Stonecroft Disco is a Section A welsh gelding 11.3H born July 2001.  “Napoleon”  is by Elmrock Starlighht out of Severn Minuet by Ardmore Artist.   We only acquied Napoleon in 2010 and he has quickly become Bob’s favourite driving pony.  Bob hopes to show Napoleon at local shows and fairs in 2011 if he can get away from our brewery.

In 2011 I took over driving Napoleon and had fun at the CNE and Erin Fair. He is a fun pony to drive and it was great to win at his first driving show with Bob watching.

We started 2012 at a clinic with PJ Crowley at Barb Bowen’s farm. Napoleon really impressed everyone and will in time become a top driving pony. I showed Napoleon at several welsh fairs and he never placed lowered than second on the line or in harness. Bob took over the driving for the Royal Winter Fair and he placed well in all his classes. As a result Napoleon was the 2012 Reserve Champion Section A gelding at the Ontario Welsh year end awards.

Disco really shone in 2013. He won all his welsh line classes including the Royal Winter Fair. He also was second in the gentleman to drive at the RWF with Bob driving him. As a result he was again the 2013 Ontario Reserve Champion section A gelding and the 2013 the Canadian Welsh Reserve Champion section A gelding.

We acquired Hawkeye in the summer of 2005 because his breeding is very similar to our driving pony, Alderdale Black Magic. He has a great temperament and outstanding movement. He had not been handled until we purchased him but his mild attitude made it easy to get him ready for the Royal Winter Fair. We have started to drive him and he also learned this discipline very quickly. We were thrilled at the Royal Winter Fair in 2005 with his manners and attitude. This was his first show and he handled it like a pro. Other exhibitors commented on his manners and were surprised that he was a stallion. He was awarded the Reserve Champion Section A stallion or gelding. This was wonderful considering he had been “running free” when we purchased him in July 2005.

Since then we have been driving Hawkeye in a pair and as the leader in a tandem at the farm. Also we have used him as a leader in a four in hand for fun. He has the greatest personality and you wouldn’t know he was a stallion. And he is passing on this great attitude to his offspring. In 2010 he was shown by a novice driver at the Royal Winter Fair and the fall fairs.

Our first foals arrived in 2010 by Alderdale Nighthawk and they are lovely. All the foals have his beautifiul large welsh head and his colour. Several foal have been shown in Sport Pony and half welsh classes in 2011 and 2012 with good results. All his off spring have been extremely easy to train.

In 2013 Hawkeye was leased for a lead line pony. He came home in early 2014 and I started to drive him again. He placed well at the OCDA show in Milton with seconds in the cones and working pony classes. I was surprised how quick he was on the cones course and how much fun he was to drive again. I would like to put him in a pair with Bob’s pony Stonecroft Disco.

See Ponies for Sale for off spring available for purchase.

Stoney Acres Step N High Jess A7786

Jessie has been leased to Mary Jane Brown for 2014

Jessie is a 11.3 H black Section A Welsh Pony mare A7786 born May 1994.   Jessie is by Meadowvale Night Owl out of Happy our Farm Step-A-Side by Elmrock Starlight.  Jessie has taught several friends to drive and taken them to their first driving shows.  We use Jessie in a pair and team and she teaches the young ponies too.  In 2010 we took Jessie to Walnut Hill Driving Show in New York and she placed well in all her classes against some great ponies.   She is truly a great welsh pony with an outstanding personality.
In 2013 Jessie has been leased to Mary Jane Brown as a lead line pony. As usual Jessie has everone in love with her. A truly great pony teaching a young boy how to ride and look after her.
