Our former stallion Nederburg is a 16.1 H Oldenburg that we imported unbroken as a two year old in 1998. He was approved the following year as a CSHA stallion and obtained his bronze status in dressage. He threw great bone and wonderful personalities into his foals and stamped them with his lovely head.

“Ned” has spent two years in training with Jon Costin as an advanced level dressage horse. Due to work constraints it was decided to geld him and Bob broke him to drive. Ned has taken to this discipline admirably and Jane showed Ned in pleasure driving and combined driving events in 2006. In 2008 Ned won his first combined event and placed well in the pleasure driving shows.

We still get inquiries about breeding to Ned and have helped customers obtain foals from owners who bred mares to him in previous years.

Tobermory

Sold to Helen Benoit – Ormstown, Quebec

“Toby” is a 14 H cross bred chestnut pony gelding born in 2001. Toby was presented at the ASPR inspection in 2004 and received a First Premium score of 7.1 Toby has been broken to drive and spent several months with Dieter Werner’s staff for training under saddle in 2005.

He has an outstanding personality, good movement and great scope thru the jumping grid.

Toby would make an excellent hunter pony or combined driving pony.

Update:   In 2009 and 2010 Helene and Toby have had numerous successes in combined driving and pleasure shows.  What a great story for a pony that was rescued as a weanling from the Kitchener Stockyard sales.

Silverbelle

Sold Spring 2012

Silverbelle is a grey 13.0 H Welsh Connemara medium pony mare that we acquired from an Ontario Sport Horse breeder in August 2004. We presented her at the September 2004 ASPR inspection we held at the farm and she was approved with a First Premium score of 7.0. Silverbelle is very athletic and loves to jump. We put her through a free jumping grid on a regular basis and she is one of the best pony mares we own over fences.

Silverbelle has had three lovely colts for us. The first foal is Buckingham by Bennos Hit. Buckingham was awarded first premium when he was inspected as a weanling by the ASPR. He has continued to develop into a lovely pony and is available for purchase. (See Ponies for Sale).

Silverbelle’s second and third colt are by Alderdale Nighthawk and are available for purchase:

SouthGates Samual is a 13.2 HH 4 year dark grey gelding with a great personality. Sam is in the process of being broken to ride by Kerrie Norcott who rides his half brother Buckingham.

SouthGates Merlin born 2011 will mature as a large pony approx 14 hands.

Safari

Sold to Jane Nelligan

“Sophie” is a lovely dark bay CSHA mare born in 1992 and is 16.2H. She is by the outstanding Trakehner stallion Kronjuwel II, who ridden by Ashley Holzer, represented Canada at the Pan Am Games in Cuba. Kronjuwel and Ashley won the dressage silver individual medal and also were team gold winners. Safari’s dam is Vivare, a foundation CSHA mare. Vivare was third in the prestigious Governor General Cup for three year olds at the Royal Winter Fair. Vivare was also the dam of Pebbles who won the Governor General Cup and then went on to become a successful confirmation hunter in the USA.

Safari has given us several great offsprings, who have gone to new homes – Meritage and Macallan. She is presently in foal to our German Sport Pony and we are excited about this breeding. She presented us with an outstanding pony colt by Zeus in 2005 which we sold as a hunter pony. With her size and confirmation, Sophie was always been successful when shown in breed line classes and has earned several championships over the years between foals. We wish Jane great success in her new venture.

In 2011, Jane Nelligan won the two year old CSHS colt/ gelding class at the Royal Winter Fair with a foal of Safari’s – Frankly Fabulous. Congrats Jane

Dancing Till Dawn

SOLD to Carolyn Jonaitis

We acquired “Polly” in January 2004 from Dancing Lawn Farm and she was in foal to a large pony cremello stallion. She is a 13.3 hand bay mare who has been inspected by the ASPR and earned a First Premium rating of 7.0. At the time we purchased her she was heavy in foal but that didn’t stop her from jumping our four foot gates on numerous occasions to meet Bob at the barn when he got home from work. After jumping the gate she would wait patiently at the barn doors until he arrived. She has since settled into the farm’s routine and is a prefect companion for an older retired standardbred mare.

In April 2004 she presented us with a lovely dun filly “Buckwheat Honey” who was also inspected and approved with the ASPR with a First Premium score of 7.1.

In June 2005 she presented us with a great colt by our stallion Bennos Hit. We presented him for inspection in September with the ASPR. He received an outstanding mark of 7.9. Bennington is presently the 2005 top scoring foal in Canada for the ASPR foal futurity and this score also tied him for the second top score in the USA

Polly is currently in foal to Alderdale Nighthawk and we are looking forward to seeing the foal. (Polly got her barn name because she loves soda crackers).

Mapleshade Baccarat

SOLD to Gale Salter, Florida

“Rosco” is a 13.3 H American registered Part Welsh pony gelding born in March 1997. Rosco is by the USEF leading pony hunter and jumper stallion Cymraeg Rain Beau out of a welsh cross bred pony. Cymraeg Rain Beau’s sire was the famed Farnley Lustre who is found in the pedigree of many top hunter and breeding ponies.

Rosco is an excellent combined driving pony who also does extremely well in pleasure driving too due to his photogenic appearance. He has won for us in pleasure driving and hasn’t been defeated at any Tri Count events in the past two years. In 2005 he was Pony Champion at East Aurora Pleasure Driving Show and the Gaits at Caledon. He won the carriage racing derby at Sutton Fair and was third in the combined driving events in Bromont and Upper Canada.

Rosco was also broken to ride and is a great pony jumping thru the grid. We don’t have anyone one small enough to ride him. His full sister showed at the Pony Finals in the USA. Rosco would not be for sale if he was a mare due to his breeding.

Buckwheat Honey

SOLD to Jane Nelligan

Honey (born April 2004) is an approved ASPR filly who earned a First Premium status with a score of 7.1. Honey is a lovely foal with beautiful movement and an excellent disposition. She will make a lovely hunter pony or a very flashy driving pony.

She will mature as a large pony and is out of our pony mare Dancing Till Dawn by a large cremello pony stallion.

Update:  Linda Reavely of Encore Equestrain purchased Honey from Jane Nelligan.  In 2010 Buckwheat Honey showed Training Level and Level 1 on the Silver Dressage Circuit and constantly received scores in the 70′s against horses.  Honey was the 2010 Training Level Champion - Dressage Niagara.  What great results for a 13.3 H dressage pony

Meritage

SOLD to Cora Lee Cardinal, St. Catherines, Ontario

Meritage is an outstanding gelding standing 16.2 and born in 2002. Mikey has been broken to ride and is extremely easy to train due to an outstanding personality and athleticism. He was a wonderful walk, huge trot and great canter. He was shown as a foal and was second in his class at the Royal Winter Fair in a class of 13 foals. Since then he has been lightly shown on the line due to time constraints but he always earns a ribbon.

Beaujolais

SOLD to Dieter Werner, Fox Horse Products

Joey is almost a copy of Meritage except for colour. In fact he is a three quarter brother as the mares were half sisters. His dam Encore is a lovely grey 17.1 mare out of Vivare and by an Abdullah son. He also was born in 2002 and should mature about 16.3 H. Joey would excel with a new owner interested in showing in the hunter division as he has the most wonderful balanced canter. He was in training with Dieter Werner when Dieter asked if he could purchase him.
