Jane grew up in a family actively involved with competitive horses. Her mother, Helen Southgate and grandmother, Victoria Armstrong campaigned a top stable of hackney ponies and horses under the banner of ABC Farms in Ontario and the USA. The ABC ponies won AHSA year end awards for long tail and short tail hackney ponies in both open and ladies divisions. Helen Southgate was considered one of the best lady drivers in North America and was asked to show hackney horses for Chancey Stillman and Cynthia Hayden.

Bob Hanenberg has been involved with the standardbred industry for 30 years. He was a Standardbred judge with the Ontario Racing Commission until 2006 when he opened Grand River Brewing, a small craft brewery along the Grand River in Cambridge, Ontario.
Bob works with the young ponies and breaks the driving horses and ponies. In 2005, Bob showed our new pony, Hawksview Dandy Dale, to numerous successes in pleasure driving. In 2006 Bob showed our large pony, Natalma, on the Ontario Carriage Derby circuit, Walnut Hill and East Aurora Pleasure driving shows and the OCDA dressage and cones in Collingwood with great success. Since 2007, Bob has been too busy to show any ponies but is a great supporter of the farm’s ponies. He participated in the KW Oktoberfest parade and was thrilled to drive Michel Bougie’s four in hand at our farm.
